The Ray High School Biology students are making ecosystem projects. These projects are observing the changes over time of the chosen animal or plant. Students Madison Acevedo and Mallory Lord have made a water snail ecosystem. We are working to see how long and how well they live in a small environment with very little terrain. With this project, other students are working on cleaning out the lake water, taking care of insects, and growing plants.
Students have 2 months to graph measurements of ph, ppt, ms, and temperature. So far our ecosystem has gone well, everything is thriving except the plant. The plant slowly died and clouded the tank, so now we have to clean the tank and the filter to make sure the ecosystem continues to grow and thrive. Students will have a presentation at the end for how well the ecosystem goes. Students will be graded by how well they treated their ecosystem and how well their ecosystem thrived. We hope to inform you at the end how our ecosystem thrives.
