Dear Bearcat Community,
Ray Unified School District will be hosting an Information Session on Thursday, April 10 at 6:00 PM at the AgScience Campus. This event is open to all members of the public, and we encourage families, students, staff, and community members to attend and learn more about the future of Ray Schools.
We also want to clarify that School Board members may attend this event in their individual capacity. However, this is not an official meeting of the Governing Board, and no Board business will be discussed or acted upon.
In accordance with Arizona Open Meeting Law (A.R.S. § 38-431.01), no quorum of the Board will convene for deliberation or decision-making. The presence of multiple Board members at a public event does not constitute a violation so long as there is no discussion of official Board matters.
This Information Session is an opportunity for open dialogue between the administration and the community — not a Board meeting. We value transparency and community involvement, and we look forward to sharing this time with you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jeremi Brewer
Superintendent
Ray Unified School District

Members of the Ray Junior and Senior High School Bands attended a professional workshop at the Disneyland Imagination Campus this past weekend. They also got to tour other parts of Los Angeles and enjoy two days at Disneyland.
A special thank you to Bob Rogers Travel, to all the people who gave donations to help make the trip possible, and to all the chaperones that came. We appreciate you all and can't wait for our next trip!

Good Afternoon Ray Unified School District!
I just wanted to clarify some information on the calendar selection. Every year the school staff is presented with three calendar options. Once the staff has had the opportunity to select the calendar they would like, it is then presented to the board for approval. This year it was presented to the board in two meetings. On February 13, 2025 the school board approved the recommend calendar option.
This was done in an open meeting, not behind closed doors.
A letter with all the information is being prepared to be distributed on Monday, February 24, 2025.
They are also working on centralizing the communication process to get information out to the district at a quicker speed.
Everyone is welcome to attend the school board meetings; held on the second Thursday of the month.
Respectfully,
Amanda Kenney
School Board President
Ray Unified School District

Come join the Ray Admin Team and Elementary Staff for an Informational Meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 25th from 6:00-7:00 p.m.

Congratulations to members of our high school band that were selected to play in the Eastern Arizona College High School Honor Band last Wednesday! Their concert was AMAZING! They all did a fabulous job, and it was a great learning experience for all the high school band members, not just those that got to participate/play in the honor band. Go Bearcat Band!

The Gold Canyon Arts Council sponsors and promotes performing, visual and other related arts activities in the greater Gold Canyon area through a series of culturally diverse public performances, festivals, educational residency programs, artistic awards and the encouragement of the arts in area schools including those in low-to-moderate income areas of Maricopa, Pinal and Gila Counties.
For the past 27 years, they have presented concert seasons performed by some of the world’s finest ensembles. In addition to our concerts, they schedule each of these groups to perform in the schools. They have presented several such school concerts in the past at Ray High School, but for some reason we have not done so for several years... So, let’s change that now.
On February 13th, at 1:20 PM at our district auditorium, they are presenting Carion Wind Quintet with members from Latvia, Sweden, and Denmark. They are one of Europe’s FINEST wind ensembles. Look them up on YouTube. They have many videos for you to see! This is such a wonderful opportunity for your students to hear professionals play.

The NRCD Career Fair that Juniors and Seniors are attending tomorrow (Thursday) has been moved from CAC Aravaipa to the Dudleyville Multicultural Center.

Congratulations to our 7th grade girls' basketball team on their runner-up trophy yesterday at the CJHL Basketball Championships! They had an amazing season. GO BEARCATS!
